Disney is launching NFTs

Disney is collaborating with Veve for its first NFT collection called the “Golden Moments”, which feature golden statues of the characters as digital collectables. They will be released soon on the VeVe app, with the drop coming on 12th November (Disney+day), which marks the first anniversary of Disney+

VeVe is an app-based marketplace for premium licensed digital collectables. It is part of Ecomi, a Singapore blockchain firm founded in 2018. Till now, Veve has sold 1.9 million NFTs and has more than 500,000 active users. It uses the ImmutableX Layer 2 scaling protocol and even committed $7 million in grants to environmental nonprofits to raise money for causes through NFT promotions.

Some limited subscriptions to Disney+ will be awarded to certain NFT buyers but not to existing subscribers as part of the promotion.

“We are truly proud to celebrate Disney+ Day with a series of “Golden Moments” digital collectables on VeVe. This will give fans and collectors the opportunity to purchase and interact with digital golden statues inspired by beloved stories and moments from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and more,” said Disney.

As a bonus, every customer who first purchases an NFT from the “Golden Moments” collection will receive three months of Disney+ courtesy of VeVe. In contrast, those customers who first buy the unique Ultra Rare digital collectable on Disney+ Day will receive a twelve-month subscription!
