NFTs: Burning. Teasing. Badass 🤹🏻♂️
CryptoPunk #685 gets burnt accidentally. Amazon teasing NFTs. Badass NFTs by Greenpeace. NFT artist Patrick Amadon calls for gender equality. BitBoy Crypto can't keep himself out of trouble.
Hello y'all. This is The Token Dispatch. Today is Monday. It comes after Sunday. Today's dispatch wrote itself. Not kidding. Serious👇
Gotta show us some love on telegram, eh? 🤟
Burning a CryptoPunk
Brandon Riley paid 77 Ethereum for CryptoPunk #685 two weeks ago. He planned to post in on NFTfi.com, to earn a yield of around 7% per year. It was not to be. He irreversibly destroyed it while going through the unfamiliar process of wrapping NFTs. Riley accidentally sent the asset to a burn address, permanently deleting the NFT from circulation.
What are CryptoPunks? The “blue chip” collection in NFTs. Along with Yuga Labs’ Bored Ape Yacht Club. Created in 2017, it has a market capitalisation of over $1 billion.
Why Wrap A Punk? Wrapping CryptoPunks converts it into a standard ERC721 NFT, can be used on other blockchain platforms. Owners can use it in decentralised finance (DeFi) applications, trade it on other marketplaces, or even use it in blockchain-based gaming.
And then it came back to life. As an ordinal on Bitcoin blockchain.
Amazon NFTs still teasing
In an email to CoinDesk's Nikhilesh De, Amazon appeared to confirm that digital tokens, an NFT gallery and resale opportunities are coming to the site.
Badass NFTs find lot of love
Greenpeace has teamed up with Canadian art activist Benjamin Von Wong to unveil the "Skull of Satoshi"—an 11-foot skull with red eyes, smoking stacks on its head, and an army of shadowy super-coders at its base. The piece was created to raise awareness about the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining and to encourage the use of renewable energy sources in the industry. Many Bitcoin enthusiasts have praised the artwork as "badass" and a "great way to raise awareness."

TTD Think about it 🧠
Sotheby's "Nativelly Digital: Glitch-ism" auction got hit by a bit of a glitch itself! One of the featured artists, Patrick Amadon, decided to withdraw his art because he felt that the collection wasn't inclusive enough of female-identifying artists.
And Sotheby's took note and decided to put the auction on hold and restart the auction with a more diverse group of artists at a later date.
Glitch-ism: sale began Friday as a first-of-its-kind, online auction that had glitch art composed of NFTs from 21 artists, with mediums ranging from JPEGs to MP4s and GIFs.
Amadon’s art: “STATIC GLITCH 2013.” had secured 21 bids, the latest offer tallying $8,500.

TTD WTF 😲
The lawyers representing a class-action lawsuit against "BitBoy Crypto" claim that Ben Armstrong, aka "BitBoy Crypto," has been making multiple threats against them. Apparently, Armstrong went into overdrive, harassing them with endless phone calls, tweets, and emails. And:
Armstrong is one of the “FTX influencers” named in the suit that seeks $1 billion for promoting “FTX crypto fraud without disclosing compensation.”
