Solana drops limited-edition Summer Shandy Beer featuring NFTs
Solana knows how to leverage real-life possibilities just the right way. The network is bringing you beers and, with the coolest NFT- themed cans.
Solana already managed to grab the limelight after announcing its Saga Phone and an IRL store. Now, Solana has teamed up with barrelDAO, a user-controlled brewery and distillery, to launch the new Solana Summer Shandy beer.
We are obsessed with the cans, which feature original artwork by Mark Lauthier, featuring references to a wide array of Solana-based NFT projects like DeGods, Degenerate Ape Academy, Okay Bears, Solana Monkey Business, Thugbirdz, Cets on Creck, Catalina Whale Mixer, and John Lê's "The First Edition."
Solana Summer Shandy is a limited edition, which includes a total of 333 beers in 16-packs. Each 16-pack costs 1.35 SOL or nearly $45 and includes shipping to the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.
Each of them is represented by a Solana NFT token that can be redeemed starting August 29 to receive the beer. BarrelDAO intends to launch the NFTs on Magic Eden, a leading NFT marketplace built on the SOL blockchain.
More perks: barrelDAO is also selling NFT versions of the digital artwork for owners to benefit from barrelDAO's future projects.
CoinDCX launches DeFi Mobile App, marking a turn towards Web3.
In an attempt to onboard more Indian users to crypto, CoinDCX, the Indian cryptocurrency exchange, released Okto, a mobile app for decentralised finance (DeFi), intending to assist crypto users in switching to DeFi.
Along with giving customers a safe way to use DeFi, Okto will also provide them with access to thousands of tokens on several DEX chains, swapping cryptocurrencies anywhere and at any time and giving them great liquidity pools to maximise their returns.
To simplify user onboarding, The app eliminates the need for consumers to keep complicated private keys. All it needs from the user is a simple email address and phone number, secured using Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology.
The Okto launch for CoinDCX will occur in two stages. At Unfold, a Web3 tech conference they are hosting this weekend, they will first announce a waitlist. Later, a complete "launch in a matter of two weeks or so" information will be posted on their website.

Despite Japan's regulators imposing stricter restrictions on crypto audiences, Animoca Brands Japan, a division of non-fungible token (NFT) and metaverse investor Animoca Brands, has raised $45 million to secure local licences and investments. Though the government has announced that a 30% tax on profits from cryptocurrency holdings will be imposed, the web3 space there is not slowing down.
What does Animoca do? The company creates and produces a wide range of products, including the REVV token and SAND token, as well as original games like The Sandbox, Crazy Kings and products based on well-known IPs like Disney, WWE, Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, MotoGPTM, and Formula E.
With the additional funding, Animoca Brands Japan will be able to expand its internal capabilities, continue to acquire licences for well-known intellectual properties, and encourage multiple partners to adopt Web3, thereby promoting the growth of a secure and reliable NFT ecosystem in Japan.
